Buying a used campervan or motorhome from Inverurie means checking both the base vehicle and the living area. Caledonian Tourers is a Perth-based marketplace established in 2019; we do not operate our own hire fleet or inspect advertised vehicles. Ask the seller for service records and arrange an independent mechanical and habitation inspection before committing.

Realistic 2025-2026 prices near Inverurie

Realistic price bands for private-sale used campervans near Inverurie in 2025-2026: £15,000-£25,000 for older high-tops with high mileage and honest wear; £25,000-£40,000 for a well-kept mid-life coachbuilt or a solid PVC conversion; £40,000-£65,000 for late-model, low-mileage vans with proper build quality. Anything below £15,000 needs extremely careful checks — cheap campervans are almost always cheap for a reason.

Buying in winter has a genuine price advantage but bring a torch and check every heater and every seal. Buying in summer is easier on the eye but you're paying peak-season money, and problems that appear in October won't be visible in July.

The two things that matter most: damp and layout

Damp is where campervans fail. Ask for the last two years of habitation service records. A van without them is a van that's been ignored. Every seasoned buyer I know treats missing habitation history as a red flag, not a discount opportunity.

Test the bed before you test the van. Sit in the seats. Stand up in the shower. Open the fridge with the door as it'll be when you're parked. Layouts look one way in a listing photograph and completely different in person, and the wrong layout is a mistake that gets more annoying every trip.

Total cost of ownership: insurance and storage

Insurance is age-linked in campervans. Under-25s pay a premium. Retired owners with clean licences pay very little. Factor it into your total-cost-of-ownership calculation, along with tax, MOT, servicing and habitation checks.

Storage near Inverurie varies. Farmyard sites run from £30-£50 a month; secure gated storage with CCTV is £60-£90; a fully covered barn is £100-plus. Book storage before you buy — the good sites have waiting lists in the spring.

How our marketplace works for Inverurie buyers

Our marketplace is built for private buyers who want a fair, moderated market — every listing near Inverurie is manually reviewed before it goes live. That doesn't guarantee the van; it guarantees the seller isn't running a scam and the photos aren't stolen from another advert. The rest is your inspection.

If you'd like a second opinion before you commit, get in touch. We're happy to talk through a specific listing — no fee, no obligation. Coming into it with a plan beats coming into it with a chequebook.
