Touring Caravan Hire Thirsk | From £195/Week | Yorkshire & Humber | Caledonian Tourers

Touring caravan hire in Thirsk, Yorkshire & Humber. Site delivery or DIY tow, awnings and kit included from £195/week. Free tow-car matching.

There's a reason we get so many bookings from the Thirsk area. Motorhome hire only works when the handover is unhurried, the vehicle is properly kitted, and the person renting it to you actually cares whether your trip goes well. That's the standard we've held since 2019, and it's why our reviews sit at a genuine 5.0 across 62 verified guests.

What campervan hire from Thirsk actually looks like

From Thirsk you're set up beautifully — the A9 opens the Highlands to the north, and heading south through Yorkshire & Humber you're on holiday-park country and coast within a couple of hours. We hand you a fully-fuelled, fully-stocked van and a route map that matches what you told us you actually want out of the week.

Handover takes an hour, sometimes ninety minutes, and I won't rush it. You'll drive the van around our yard before you leave, set up the awning, connect the hook-up, and light the hob, so nothing on your first night is a surprise. Guests from further afield sometimes stay in a local B&B the night before and collect fresh in the morning — I'll happily book them in with someone I trust.

2026 pricing (what it costs, what's included)

Our 2026 price freeze runs the season out at last year's numbers — low season from £495 a week, mid-season around £795, and peak (school holidays and the Highland shoulder) £1,195 to £1,295. That's fully inclusive: bedding, kitchen kit, gas, awning, chairs and the mileage you'd actually use in a week. No fake-cheap headline followed by a £300 "cleaning fee" on the way back.

You're covered on our fully-comp policy from the second you drive off the yard. Ask about excess-reduction if you want the excess brought down; it's an add-on rather than a hidden compulsory fee.

Route advice for guests based near Thirsk

Route-wise, my honest advice for guests routing back to Thirsk: don't try to do the full NC500 in five days. It's a wonderful road but it punishes tight itineraries. Take a week, add two days, or shorten it — the Highlands are better savoured than sprinted. Yorkshire & Humber's coast has plenty of week-length loops that finish you back near home without the panic.

If you're on the fence, come and see the van. Perth is a comfortable drive from Thirsk and I'd rather you looked round for twenty minutes than book blind. It's the surest way to know whether motorhome touring is really for you before you commit a deposit.
