Touring Caravan Hire Southwold | From £195/Week | East of England | Caledonian Tourers

Touring caravan hire in Southwold, East of England. Site delivery or DIY tow, awnings and kit included from £195/week. Free tow-car matching.

There's a reason we get so many bookings from the Southwold area. Motorhome hire only works when the handover is unhurried, the vehicle is properly kitted, and the person renting it to you actually cares whether your trip goes well. That's the standard we've held since 2019, and it's why our reviews sit at a genuine 5.0 across 62 verified guests.

What campervan hire from Southwold actually looks like

Guests from Southwold usually plan a loop rather than a straight line, and we'll help you build one. Whether it's the North Coast 500, a west-coast whisky run, or a slower drift through East of England, the geography's on your side. Bring the postcode of where you're staying and we'll factor the transfer into your handover time.

Because most of our customers are on their first motorhome trip, we treat the handover as a proper lesson, not a signature exercise. I've done it thousands of times; I know the four things people always forget, and we'll cover them twice.

2026 pricing (what it costs, what's included)

Our 2026 price freeze runs the season out at last year's numbers — low season from £495 a week, mid-season around £795, and peak (school holidays and the Highland shoulder) £1,195 to £1,295. That's fully inclusive: bedding, kitchen kit, gas, awning, chairs and the mileage you'd actually use in a week. No fake-cheap headline followed by a £300 "cleaning fee" on the way back.

Insurance is fully-comp with a £750 standard excess. You can reduce that to zero on the day for a small daily fee, and I'd recommend it for first-time hirers — not because I expect anything to go wrong, but because a low-speed scrape on a single-track passing place shouldn't cost you your deposit and your good mood.

Route advice for guests based near Southwold

Route-wise, my honest advice for guests routing back to Southwold: don't try to do the full NC500 in five days. It's a wonderful road but it punishes tight itineraries. Take a week, add two days, or shorten it — the Highlands are better savoured than sprinted. East of England's coast has plenty of week-length loops that finish you back near home without the panic.

The easiest next step from Southwold is a five-minute call. I'll ask a couple of questions — dates, party size, where you fancy — and tell you which van fits and whether the dates are wide open or getting tight. No pressure, no upsell, and if we can't help I'll point you to someone honest who can.
