Touring Caravan Hire Ponteland | From £195/Week | North East England | Caledonian Tourers

Touring caravan hire in Ponteland, North East England. Site delivery or DIY tow, awnings and kit included from £195/week. Free tow-car matching.

When someone in Ponteland asks me what a week in a proper motorhome actually feels like, I usually pour a coffee and tell them the truth: it's slower, quieter, and more freeing than any hotel break they've had. We've been renting campervans and motorhomes out of Perth since 2019, and a fair chunk of our repeat customers started their first trip from close to Ponteland.

What campervan hire from Ponteland actually looks like

From Ponteland you're set up beautifully — the A9 opens the Highlands to the north, and heading south through North East England you're on holiday-park country and coast within a couple of hours. We hand you a fully-fuelled, fully-stocked van and a route map that matches what you told us you actually want out of the week.

Because most of our customers are on their first motorhome trip, we treat the handover as a proper lesson, not a signature exercise. I've done it thousands of times; I know the four things people always forget, and we'll cover them twice.

2026 pricing (what it costs, what's included)

Our 2026 price freeze runs the season out at last year's numbers — low season from £495 a week, mid-season around £795, and peak (school holidays and the Highland shoulder) £1,195 to £1,295. That's fully inclusive: bedding, kitchen kit, gas, awning, chairs and the mileage you'd actually use in a week. No fake-cheap headline followed by a £300 "cleaning fee" on the way back.

Every hire is fully-comp insured. The excess reduction is optional and worth it if you're new to a vehicle this size — Highland roads are narrow and one clipped mirror is enough to eat the excess. It's cheap peace of mind.

Route advice for guests based near Ponteland

Route-wise, my honest advice for guests routing back to Ponteland: don't try to do the full NC500 in five days. It's a wonderful road but it punishes tight itineraries. Take a week, add two days, or shorten it — the Highlands are better savoured than sprinted. North East England's coast has plenty of week-length loops that finish you back near home without the panic.

The easiest next step from Ponteland is a five-minute call. I'll ask a couple of questions — dates, party size, where you fancy — and tell you which van fits and whether the dates are wide open or getting tight. No pressure, no upsell, and if we can't help I'll point you to someone honest who can.
