Touring Caravan Hire Mersea Island | From £195/Week | East of England | Caledonian Tourers

Touring caravan hire in Mersea Island, East of England. Site delivery or DIY tow, awnings and kit included from £195/week. Free tow-car matching.

There's a reason we get so many bookings from the Mersea Island area. Motorhome hire only works when the handover is unhurried, the vehicle is properly kitted, and the person renting it to you actually cares whether your trip goes well. That's the standard we've held since 2019, and it's why our reviews sit at a genuine 5.0 across 62 verified guests.

What campervan hire from Mersea Island actually looks like

Guests from Mersea Island usually plan a loop rather than a straight line, and we'll help you build one. Whether it's the North Coast 500, a west-coast whisky run, or a slower drift through East of England, the geography's on your side. Bring the postcode of where you're staying and we'll factor the transfer into your handover time.

Because most of our customers are on their first motorhome trip, we treat the handover as a proper lesson, not a signature exercise. I've done it thousands of times; I know the four things people always forget, and we'll cover them twice.

2026 pricing (what it costs, what's included)

Pricing for 2026 sits between £495 and £1,295 per week depending on the season. I'd rather you paid a fair price and had a brilliant trip than paid a suspicious price and spent your first night trying to work out why the heater won't come on. Everything we quote is inclusive, and the deposit is fully refundable on return.

Insurance is fully-comp with a £750 standard excess. You can reduce that to zero on the day for a small daily fee, and I'd recommend it for first-time hirers — not because I expect anything to go wrong, but because a low-speed scrape on a single-track passing place shouldn't cost you your deposit and your good mood.

Route advice for guests based near Mersea Island

If it's your first trip, I always suggest a shorter loop — Perthshire, Argyll and back — before you commit to a full Highland circuit. It gets you used to the van, and it means you're not doing a 200-mile day on the tail end of a tiring week. East of England makes a first motorhome week easy in a way that the far north-west doesn't.

If you're on the fence, come and see the van. Perth is a comfortable drive from Mersea Island and I'd rather you looked round for twenty minutes than book blind. It's the surest way to know whether motorhome touring is really for you before you commit a deposit.
