Every hire is fully-comp insured. The excess reduction is optional and worth it if you're new to a vehicle this size — Highland roads are narrow and one clipped mirror is enough to eat the excess. It's cheap peace of mind.

Route advice for guests based near Cranleigh

Route-wise, my honest advice for guests routing back to Cranleigh: don't try to do the full NC500 in five days. It's a wonderful road but it punishes tight itineraries.
