When someone in Barton-upon-Humber asks me what a week in a proper motorhome actually feels like, I usually pour a coffee and tell them the truth: it's slower, quieter, and more freeing than any hotel break they've had. We've been renting campervans and motorhomes out of Perth since 2019, and a fair chunk of our repeat customers started their first trip from close to Barton-upon-Humber.
What campervan hire from Barton-upon-Humber actually looks like
From Barton-upon-Humber you're set up beautifully — the A9 opens the Highlands to the north, and heading south through Yorkshire & Humber you're on holiday-park country and coast within a couple of hours. We hand you a fully-fuelled, fully-stocked van and a route map that matches what you told us you actually want out of the week.
Because most of our customers are on their first motorhome trip, we treat the handover as a proper lesson, not a signature exercise. I've done it thousands of times; I know the four things people always forget, and we'll cover them twice.
2026 pricing (what it costs, what's included)
We publish real prices. £495 low season, £795 mid, £1,295 peak — one number covers the van, the kit, the insurance, the mileage and the handover. If someone quotes you dramatically less, ask them what's not included; it's usually bedding, gas, insurance excess reduction, and the extra hour on handover, and those four line items add up fast.
Insurance is fully-comp with a £750 standard excess. You can reduce that to zero on the day for a small daily fee, and I'd recommend it for first-time hirers — not because I expect anything to go wrong, but because a low-speed scrape on a single-track passing place shouldn't cost you your deposit and your good mood.
Route advice for guests based near Barton-upon-Humber
If it's your first trip, I always suggest a shorter loop — Perthshire, Argyll and back — before you commit to a full Highland circuit. It gets you used to the van, and it means you're not doing a 200-mile day on the tail end of a tiring week. Yorkshire & Humber makes a first motorhome week easy in a way that the far north-west doesn't.
Hiring from Barton-upon-Humber works. Hundreds of families and couples have done it since we opened, and the vast majority book again. Get in touch when you're ready — the earlier in the season, the more flexibility you'll have on van choice.
